4 Mother's day gift ideas

 Hi Bestie!

Mother’s day is fast approaching and it is the time to start thinking about what you want to give to your mom or the motherly figure in your life. Together we thought of four different gift ideas. Two of them you can buy and two of them are crafted.

The first idea is a crate full all of her favorite things. A few ideas for this would be her favorite make up product, her favorite wine or a bath oil with her favorite scent. Also don’t forget about her favorite snacks because who doesn‘t love snacks. You can also bake her a cake or some cookies to make it even more personal.

The second idea is essentially a voucher for a homemade breakfast with a bread in a jar and homemade marmalade. You could even prepare the breakfast for her, we are sure, she would be thrilled about this.

The recipe for your bread in the jar

·      500 g of bread flour

·      1,5 tsp salt

·      1 tsp sugar

·      5 g of dry active yeast

These are the ingredients to add to the jar, when you bake the bread, you need to add:

·      2 tbsp olive oil

·      350 ml water

Mix together the dry ingredients and then add the liquids, stir the dough together don’t kneed the dough! Then leave the covered dough over night or up to 18 hours. In the morning turn over the dough and form it into a ball (or into bread shape). Cover it again and leave it to rise for another hour. Preheat your oven to 240 degrees. Make sure to preheat the baking sheet as well. Then add your dough to the hot baking sheet and bake your bread for about 35 minutes. Let it cool and enjoy it with butter and marmalade.

For the marmalade you will need

·      500 g of any fruit you or your mom like

·      370 g sugar

Cut the fruit into small pieces and add it to a saucepan together with the sugar. Bring it to a boil and then lower the temperature to medium. Make sure to stir it once in a while. After 40 to 50 minutes coat a spoon with the marmalade and let it drop of the spoon, when the drip is slow, your marmalade is done, if it is fast, you need to simmer it for longer.

In the meantime, bring a pot of water to the boil and boil your jars in it, make sure, they are still very hot, when you fill them with the marmalade, otherwise the jars might explode. Cover them immediately with the lids. You can keep the marmalade up to a year if you store the unopened jars in a cool and dark place, the opened jar you can store in the fridge.

If you don’t have too much time on hand to craft something for your mum a really nice thing you could buy her would be some lipstick. You can choose one that you think would perfectly match her or just gift her one in a color she already often wears. Kure Bazaar has many different colors to choose from and on top also offers different formulas! Wheter your mum likes to wear a long lasting matte one or just a sheer almost gloss like one you can find it all at Kure Bazaar!

I think it would be super nice to pair the lipsticks with a little pouch that you could sew yourself and then maybe even embroid! Embroidery has gotten to be a huge trend on social media, especially TikTok, in the past few months and therefore you can find a ton of tutorials everywhere! So even if you have never embroidered before I’m sure you can figure out something cute. Wheter you put on her name onto the pouch or some cute little flowers, personalizing it will surely surprise her! Put some lipstick and maybe some other beauty favs from her in there and the gift is completed!

We hope, you found an idea, if you were still looking for a gift for your Mom!

If you care, you share with your bestie, and the whole world anyway.
