Recipe for the BEST Chai Tea Latte

Hey there

As you might know, the colder times are approaching at high speed and I therefore wanted to show you my favourite hot beverage for the colder seasons. It takes me about 40 Minutes to complete this recipe, but the result is worth the time it takes. Not only does it taste great when warm on a cold winter winter day, but it is also an amazing refreshing drink in summer.

Ingredients:

10 Peppercorns

5 Cloves

4 Cardamom-pods

2 Cinnamon-sticks

1 Star anise

600 ml of Water

2,5 tablespoons of loose black tea

130g of brown sugar

1. Put all of the spices in a large saucepan and roast them for about two minutes or until they smell nice at a low temperature. After that let them cool off completely before you make them smaller in a mortar.

2. Put the pulverised spices and the water back into the saucepan and bring it to boil. Then reduce the heat, put on a lid and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

3. Take it off the heat, add the tea and let it steam for 10 Minutes. After the 10 minutes, put the mixture trough a sieve into an other pan and be careful to catch all of the spices and the tea.

4. Add the sugar to the sirup and let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

5. To let the sirup cool down, you can fill it into a glass bottle. You can store the sirup in the glass bottle for up to one week in the fridge, but most of the times, it won't last this long;)

6. Now for the main part, the Chai Tea Latte: mix one part sirup with two parts of frothy milk and you are done. I prefer soy milk, but I'm sure, all milk tastes fine.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe and let me know, if you make it at home. For now I'm enjoying my cup of Chai Tea Latte and watch how the forest turns orange and red. Until then and I'll see you
